FIFA Issues Reminder of Bidding Rules After Trump’s Tweet On The World Cup Bid

FIFA has issued a reminder about its World Cup bidding rules after US President Donald Trump tweeted about the bid. Yesterday, the US president tweeted that the United States has put together a strong bid with Mexico and Canada for the 2026 edition of the World Cup. The tweet also included a few comments about the support.

FIFA released a statement saying that as a general rule, they cannot comment on specific statements in connection with the bidding process. The statement adds that they can only refer to the FIFA regulations for the selection of the venue and the bid rules of conduct.

The US, Canada and Mexico have a joint bid to host the 2026 World Cup. That bid is competing against Morocco, which has submitted other bids in the past, with the one for 2010 reportedly coming close to winning.

The US hosted the tournament back in 1994 while Mexico hosted the 1970 and 1986 editions. Canada has never hosted this tournament but it has hosted every other major FIFA competition. Morocco has never hosted a World Cup but the country has been the site of other FIFA competitions.

It is the fifth time that Morocco bids for the World Cup and in recent weeks, the country has received some support. The vote will happen the day before the 2018 World Cup begins. Every country that is a FIFA member gets a vote.

One of the first to announce its support for Morocco’s bid was France. The president of the French Football Federation explained why they were supporting that bid, pointing out that the continent has only hosted one World Cup. Dominica’s government also announced its support for Morocco’s bid right around the same time. Two weeks later, South Africa also announced that it would be supporting the bid from Morocco. South Africa was the first in the continent to host the World Cup. Morocco is looking to become the second after submitting four other bids in the past.

Nokia X Leaked Pictures Reveal Rear Dual Cameras and Notch

The Nokia X is said to be launching very soon but leaked pictures have given a look at the upcoming device. The pictures appeared on Baidu, revealing all of the front and back of the device.

The front of the device is a little different from recent Nokia releases as the smartphone has a notch. Several companies have added a notch to their smartphones in recent months and it appears that Nokia will be the latest to do that. The notch houses the front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor. The bottom has a little space for the Nokia logo.

On the back, we see that the phone has a dual camera setup in the top middle. Under those cameras, there is a circular fingerprint sensor. The right side has the volume and power button.

Recent rumors have revealed that the smartphone could be introduced as the Nokia X6. The Nokia X name might also happen if the company decides to use two different names for the Chinese market and global version. The leaked pictures have mentioned that the phone is the Nokia X, so this name might be the one for the Chinese market. The Nokia X name isn’t new either, back in 2014 the company released a phone with this exact name. The release happened before the company was acquired by Microsoft.

The pictures do not reveal any specs but recent rumors have revealed some information about the upcoming device. The smartphone is rumored to have a 5.8-inch display (19:9 aspect ratio) and 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

The Nokia X is said to be launching in the next few hours but the global launch date is rumored to be on May 16.

If you enjoy drawing, sketching, taking notes or generally using your devices with stylus pens, you know how God-send they can be. Whether you have large fingers (guilty as charged) or you just like using styluses, you’ve experienced how useful and nifty they can be. Let’s see how it does then, shall we?

This stylus is one of the best selling ones on Amazon, and there’s gotta be a reason for that. Checking out their product description, you can see that they promise lots of features included in the stylus. If those are true (which we’ll shortly find out), it would explain the pen’s popularity, especially when combined with its affordable price. But before we get into the features, pricing and everything else, let’s take a look at the company itself. That’s always a good place to start, in my opinion.

About MekoTech – The Company Which Makes This Stylus

When I first landed on MekoTech’s website, I was immediately surprised by it. If you asked me whether the page looked modern or dated, I wouldn’t know how to reply. It looks like a modern dated website I guess. Which isn’t a bad thing, because it doesn’t look bad at all. I was a little disappointed finding out that they don’t have much written about themselves. The only thing I could find is that MekoTech is a US-based company that’s been around since 2011, and focuses on creating quality styluses. Oh well, it is what it is.

MEKO Universal 2-in-1 Stylus Build, Features and Price

As previously mentioned, this stylus promises lots of features. So the best idea would be to break it all down and check out those features one-by-one, right?

Build & Design

One of my favorite things about this product is the feeling you get when using it. Since it’s made from Aluminum and steel, it feels very sturdy and almost luxurious. Definitely doesn’t feel cheap in any way, which can usually be the case with these. It has two different types of tips (being 2-in-1), a thin fiber tip and a high-precision rubber one. They feel okay, but from my experience, these tend to wear off after heavy usage. Luckily, you get lots of replacements in the package, so you’ll be good to go. I really like the fiber tip, because lots of other manufacturers use rubber ones that are coated with some fiber, which then promptly breaks down. Not here though, this one feels like it lasts.

Onto the dimensions themselves:

The stylus looks and feels premium, and there’s plenty of colors to choose from. Although nothing looks as good as the sleek black one, if you’d like to color things up, you have the option.

Features

This MEKO stylus has several features that can be very, very useful. The first one that comes to mind is the way that you replace the tips, which is absurdly easy. Pull it out and slide the other one in, or just screw one off and screw the other one in. It fees simple and natural, just the way it should.

The stylus is, of course, compatible with all the regular capacitive touch screens, whether it’s an iDevice, an Android or a Windows phone/tablet. There are no apps to install to pair the stylus with your device, which is just unnecessary in most cases from my experience. This one works out the box, which is awesome. However, if you use a sturdier screen protector, you might experience some troubles due to that, so you’ll have to pick your battles if that’s the case.

Price

What blows me away the most regarding this product is its price. It costs around $15, which is a very low price in this category. Most other products go for well over $30, up to a $100 even. Either that or they cost $8 and break down by the time they’re at your doorstep. In my opinion, the MEKO stylus is by far the best bang for your buck, hands down.

In case you need to order more replacement tips, they are also affordable, at the price of $1-2 a piece. Seeing that you get 6 of them in the package, you’ll probably never need any replacements. But if you do, it’s good to know that they have a nice price too.

MEKO 2-in-1 Stylus Usability – How Good Is It Actually?

Now that we’ve covered the technical stuff, let’s get to the main thing – how good is this stylus actually?

You’ll be pleased to hear that the stylus offers a near flawless experience. Whether you want to use it for sketching, taking notes or just browsing the web, the MEKO stylus offers everything you need. From the second you start using it, you’ll notice how natural it feels, so don’t say I didn’t warn you because you might not want to go back. No matter what you need this stylus for, I believe it will be a great purchase. It’s just that good.

The one issue I noticed with the pen is that sometimes the precision tip will flip over, so you’ll have to correct that by raising the stylus from the screen. It doesn’t happen if you use the stylus at an angle around 90 degrees, but if you really lower it down, it might happen. You do get used to it after a while, but it sure as hell is annoying until you do.

MEKO 2-in-1 Stylus Review Conclusion

So, is this a good purchase, all things considered?

I would wholeheartedly recommend this stylus to basically everyone. It offers a premium feeling, it’s perfectly usable and it’s beyond affordable. The one thing that I have an issue with isn’t that big of a deal, so I’m not sure what would be the reason not to buy and enjoy this stylus at the $15 price point.

The device is a small upgrade from the Moto G5 Plus and the G5S Plus, which are no longer the latest Moto G devices. The future of the Moto X series is unclear since reports have revealed that the company has canceled a Moto X5 but the Moto X4 remains a solid device for those who want something other than a Moto G or a Moto E smartphone.

Shenzhen To Debut Cameras With Facial Recognition Technology To Identify Drivers

The city of Shenzhen will soon have a number of cameras that will help identify drivers that break road rules. Police in that city will launch the technology next Monday, making their job a little easier.

The city will add 40 cameras with advanced facial recognition technology to help identify the drivers breaking the rules. The cameras, which are known as ‘robocops’, will make things a lot easier for traffic police. They currently identify those who break the road rules through license plates but with the technology, they’ll be able to tell who is driving.

The cameras will be watching the drivers and those who break the rules will have their faces matched through a database. After that, the driver will receive a fine. Authorities hope this makes drivers think twice about breaking road rules in the city.

This technology is nothing new in China, where it is already being used by authorities in other cities. The technology to identify drivers is not available in every city yet but China has added millions of cameras in recent years and plans to install many more in the next few years.

Facial recognition technology in China has been on the news a lot lately after showing that it can be very good to help find those hiding from authorities and those who need help. Two weeks ago, the technology helped authorities find a man they had been searching for.

The impressive part about this was that the man was at a concert with a crowd of more than 50,000 people. The police, who had been searching for the man over ”economic crimes”, used the cameras at the entrance to identify him. Some of the cameras there were equipped with that technology, which let them know that the man was at the event. One police officer revealed that the suspect was surprised by the arrest since he didn’t think he would be caught with the large crowd.

A few days ago, the technology also helped a man find his family. The mentally ill man was found by authorities at a train station in early 2017. He was lost and confused and was then transported to a hospital, where he remained for over a year. During that time, the hospital contacted a company that works with this technology to find where he came from. The technology helped find where he lived and he was then reunited with his brother, according to the South China Morning Post.

Venezuela’s Guaire River Helps Some Earn More Than Professionals

Salaries in Venezuela are not enough to keep up with the inflation but a group of people are risking their lives to earn a lot more than most professionals in the country. These people sit in the polluted Guaire river, which flows through the nation’s capital of Caracas.

The people that search the river are known as ”garimpeiros”, which in Portuguese means someone who searches for minerals. The situation has gotten so bad in the country that many have decided to step into the river and see what they can find.

In recent months, the number of people searching the river has increased. The majority of them spend hours in the polluted waters to find a piece of gold or anything of value. This isn’t good for their health but it helps them earn a lot more than most professionals in the country.

A garimpeiro can earn up to 19 times the minimum salary with just a few pieces of gold or jewelry that ends up in the river. In recent weeks, many of them have been interviewed by those who post news on social media. Many of them know the risks of going through the polluted river but most say they have no other choice.

The Venezuelan government has raised the minimum salary several times in recent years but the Bolivar continues to lose value. A minimum salary is just a little over $2, according to the unofficial exchange rate, which is the one that is used in the country since the Venezuelan government is the only one that has access to the official exchange rate.

The garimpeiros risk their health for a much higher salary and many have decided to join them. The number of people entering the river recently caught the attention of authorities, who showed up to the river and detained those there. At least 15 people were removed and transported to detention centers, according to local media.

El Nacional newspaper reports that some of the people detained explained that gold and valuable stones can be found in the river. A lot of them decided to enter the polluted river after hearing others talk about the valuable things that can be found there. One of the garimpeiros explained that rainy days are the best since the waters remove pieces of gold, earrings and rings.

Google Becomes The Latest Company To Change Gun Emoji

Search giant Google has made a big change for one of its emojis. The company has changed the pistol emoji for Android users. The change turns the pistol emoji into a bright orange and yellow water gun.

The search giant is actually one of the many companies that has decided to change the emoji in recent years. The pistol emoji was there for years, with only small changes to the colors being made in the last two years. In 2014, Google had a pistol with much brighter brown and grey colors. In 2017, the emoji featured a darker brown and grey color.

The search giant now joins Apple, Twitter and Samsung as some of the big companies that have switched from the gun emoji to a water or toy gun. Apple was among the first companies to make the change. From 2013 to 2015, the tech giant had a pistol emoji. In 2016, it was changed to a toy gun, which has been there ever since. Reports in 2016 also revealed that Apple was behind the decision to remove a proposed rifle and pistol shooting emoji.

Twitter had the gun emoji for years before the company decided to change it for 2018. The social media site now has what appears to be a small water gun. That change was actually announced earlier this month. Samsung also switched its emoji to a bright green toy gun after having a pistol for years.

Microsoft and Facebook are among the companies that still use a pistol as one of their emojis. Microsoft’s changes have actually been the opposite of what other companies have done recently. A few years back, the company had a space toy gun as one of its emojis before changing it to a pistol in 2016. The Verge reports that a spokesperson for Facebook has told Emojipedia that it will be replacing its pistol emoji with a toy water gun.

Emojis have been available for years but companies have changed the pistol emoji over gun violence in the US and other countries. Google’s emoji change really stands out since it turns it into a super soaker lookalike. The change is expected to be part of the next major Android update.

Last month, Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward, appeared in a video playing Fortnite. A few weeks back, we also saw Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster play a squad match with Drake, Travis Scott and Ninja.

Fortnite, one of the few battle royale games out there, has been one of the most talked about games of 2018. The battle royale game has led to hundreds of memes, videos and millions for the game developer.

A few weeks ago, the game set Twitch records when Ninja played a match with rapper Drake. The two would later be joined by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and rapper Travis Scott. The streams were a huge success and Fortnite’s popularity has continued rising. Just a few days ago, Ninja set new records once again during an event in Las Vegas. Ninja had a whopping 667,000 viewers at one point. The previous record had been set by his stream with Drake. That stream had 600,000 concurrent viewers.

Earlier this month, Matchmade revealed that the game was now the most viewed on YouTube. The marketing platform for games said the battle royale game had taken the top position from Minecraft, which continues to be popular but not as popular as previous years.

Two months ago, the game set records by having 3.4 million concurrent players. The previous record was held by its biggest competitor PUBG with 3.2 million. A YouTube director recently said on social media that the game now had the record for most uploads in a month.

Fortnite is a game that is still in early access but its popularity continues to rise as it is free to play and it is constantly updated with new cosmetic items. The game is currently available for PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4 and iOS. The game developer also plans to bring it to Android soon.

China: Pregnant Woman Turns Herself In After Deliberately Tripping Boy

A pregnant woman in China has turned herself into police after a video showed her deliberately tripping a boy in a restaurant. Security footage, which was posted on Weibo, was viewed by millions in China.

In the video, the woman can be seen eating right next to the entrance of the restaurant. The boy runs in and the plastic curtain in the entrance hits her in the face while she is eating. The boy runs to the back of the building but then returns to leave the restaurant. He is running back to the entrance/exit when the woman sticks her foot out and he falls.

The other people eating there see the boy fall right in the entrance. It also appears that they saw her trip him since they were seated close to her. The boy later told his mother about what happened and she decided to look for the video. Reports say his parents are in charge of the restaurant where the incident took place.

His mother searched the security footage and contacted authorities. She told local media that she thought her son had tripped but then he told her that the woman had made him fall. She also told local media that other customers confirmed that the woman had made him fall.

There were so many comments against her that the boy’s mother later asked people to stop. The incident happened on April 19 but the video was posted on Sunday.

Couple Begins Making Homemade Football Stickers For 2018 WC Album

A couple has returned to make the football stickers that went viral a few years back. The two, known as the Panini Cheapskates, began drawing football stickers during the 2014 World Cup and did the same for the Euro 2016.

They began drawing over the high prices to fill the World Cup albums. Each album has stickers for every player that is part of the tournament. Filling an album can cost hundreds of dollars since it’s pretty much impossible to not get duplicates.

The couple’s idea went viral during the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016. For the Euro 2016 tournament, they raised £4,500 ($6,272). They will do it again for charity this year. The couple, which is on Twitter as @CheapPanini, confirmed through a tweet that they would return for the upcoming tournament.

In the tweet, they explain that they had no cash to collect the stickers for the 2014 World Cup album so they decided to draw the stickers themselves. Their plans to draw every player could take a while as the album has hundreds of players and they now have a baby.

The 2018 World Cup begins in June but Panini has already released its album. The release has angered some fans as the prices have gone up. A lot of them took social media shortly after the prices were announced. Some were surprised by the news but confirmed that they would try to complete the album while others said they would be skipping this edition.

The Panini album for the 2018 World Cup has a total of 682 stickers. Fans will have to buy at least 140 packs to get a lot of the cards. I say a lot of the cards because there will be duplicates, which means it will require more than that.

Last month, a math professor calculated just how much it would cost to complete the album. Cardiff University Math Professor Paul Harper calculated that it takes £773 ($1076) to complete the album without trading any of the stickers. He also calculated that it would take £247 ($344) to complete the album if you trade stickers with ten friends.

The professor also revealed that it takes 4,832 stickers to complete the album. He added that things get very difficult when collectors are looking for the last 19 cards. He explained that getting those last 19 stickers takes 483 stickers.

Amazon Partners With Two Companies To Make Deliveries To Car Trunks

Amazon has recently announced new ways of deliveries and the latest involves putting packages in car trunks. The online retailer has partnered with General Motors and Volvo to deliver packages straight to car trunks. This new way of package delivery will be available in 37 US cities.

This new service is yet another delivery option for those who don’t want delivery people to leave their packages outside of their homes or enter their homes to leave the package at the front door.

This new service is available to Amazon Prime members and is connected to the Amazon Key service that the company recently launched. Peter Larsen, Amazon’s Vice President of Delivery, said in a statement that with the Amazon Key In-Car, they’re fueling another convenient and secure way to get packages to their customers.

The partnership between Amazon and the two car makers makes sense as the two companies have millions of cars in the United States. A spokesman for General Motors said that the service will be available in more than seven million vehicles that have 4G LTE connections.

Volvo has said that the service can be used from models from the year 2012 and up while General Motors has said that the service can be used from 2015 releases and up. The online retailer has not said if it plans to bring this service outside of the US.

Amazon’s new service is one of a few delivery options that the company has announced in recent years. Just last month, the company announced a new feature in which customers can receive a photo of their packages that are left when they are not home. The feature is only available in a few US cities and is only part of the packages delivered by Amazon Logistics.

In November, the company launched its Amazon Key program, which is now available for Prime members. The Amazon Key program allows delivery people to enter the customers home and drop their package inside. The service requires a smart lock and a security camera, which are sold by Amazon. Recent surveys have revealed that everyone is not okay with the idea of having delivery people enter their homes.

Xiaomi’s Upcoming Phone Appears In Leaked Video

Recent leaks and teasers from Xiaomi have given us plenty of information on the design and specs of the upcoming Mi 6X. The latest leak is quite interesting as it shows the phone in a video.

For months, we’ve seen the phone in images but this video now gives us a closer look on the smartphone that is said to be coming on April 25. The video, which was posted on Weibo, shows all of the device. The video is just nine seconds long but the person holding the phone shows the display, settings and the back of the device.

During the video, we see the person go on the settings and show some of the specs. We also see the dual camera and fingerprint sensor on the back. This device appears to have the Sand Gold color, one of five color options rumored to be coming in the launch.

Earlier this month, the company posted a new teaser showing the back of the phone. Before this teaser, we all knew that the company would be holding an event on April 25 after it sent out invites. The device for the event had not been announced but this pretty much confirmed it.

In the teaser, we see the dual cameras and a different color option from the one in the latest leak. It’s also confirmed that the dual camera setup will have a 20MP sensor. That teaser was also posted on Weibo.

Just a few days ago, we also found out that the smartphone will have five color options. According to recent leaks, the color options will be: Black, Flame Red, Glacier Blue, Sand Gold and Cherry Pink. The color options are a nice change for Xiaomi since we don’t often see the company bring this many different color options for a smartphone. Two of the most common color options, silver and white, appear to have been left out for this release.

The launch of the Xiaomi Mi 6X is said to be taking place tomorrow. Xiaomi will probably reveal the price at the event but rumors say it could be under $300. The smartphone is expected to arrive globally as the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Didi Chuxing Launches In Mexico

Chinese ride sharing company Didi Chuxing launched its service in Mexico on Monday. The service, which is now available in the city of Toluca, brings major competition to ride sharing company Uber, which is very popular in the country.

It is the first time that the ride sharing company brings its services outside of Asia, where it has had lots of success since the company was founded in 2012. The Didi Express service is only available in one city but the company has bigger plans for 2018.

The service has also introduced a number of features for its drivers and users, especially on safety. The company revealed that its teams in the country and other places such as Beijing studied the market.

The service has features such as a new emergency button in the app that connects users and drivers to authorities and emergency services. The company has its drivers center in Toluca.

Earlier this year, the company acquired Brazilian ride sharing company 99. The acquisition gave Didi Chuxing presence in Latin America. Brazil is a major ride sharing market and a place where Uber and other ride sharing companies are popular.

Didi Chuxing started recruiting drivers in Mexico just weeks ago. The company promised its drivers not to take a percentage of their fares until June 17. After that, the company will take a 20 percent cut, according to Reuters.

Didi Chuxing’s arrival brings major competition to Uber and other ride sharing companies in Mexico. Uber is said to be the most popular there with about seven million users. Uber launched in Mexico City back in 2013.

Didi Chuxing has said that it hopes to bring its service to other Mexican cities later this year. The service is only available in Toluca, the fifth largest city in Mexico.

Didi Chuxing and Uber are long time rivals in the ride sharing industry. In 2016, after a long battle with ride sharing companies in China, Uber sold its operation to Didi Chuxing. At the time, Didi Chuxing said Uber’s branding would remain intact in the country. The company also said that for the time being, they would operate independently.

Didi Chuxing, founded in June 2012, has over 400 million users in China and more than 7,000 employees. The company’s expansion now appears to be headed to Latin America, with a recent acquisition in Brazil and now a launch in Mexico.

Australian Boy Goes To Bali After Fight With Mother

A 12-year-old boy from Sydney was not happy after a family argument and decided to go on a 1,600 mile trip to Bali. Reports say the boy took his parents card and convinced one of his family members to give him his passport. The boy then headed to the airport and got on the flight without any problems.

The A Current Affair TV show said the boy was told by his parents that he couldn’t go to the island. After that, he decided to plan the trip on his own, booking flights and a hotel room. The boy also looked for airlines that allowed him to travel alone.

The boy then left for school but his real plans were to travel to the island. He rode his scooter to the train station and then traveled to the airport. According to the Nine Network program, the boy got on a flight for Perth and then another for Indonesia. Reports say that the boy had tried to book a flight twice but was told he needed a letter from his parents. His parents alerted authorities about his attempts and they told them that his passport would be flagged. A third attempt by the boy ended up being successful.

The boy didn’t have much problems getting on the flights as he was only stopped once at Perth airport. In that stop, he was asked for identification to confirm his age. The boy boarded the flight to Indonesia, with his family still thinking that he was in school.

When the boy made it to the island, he checked in to the All Seasons hotel. He told staff there that was he was waiting for his sister. The family and hotel staff still didn’t know that the boy had traveled 1,600 miles.

The family found out that he was in another country when the school reported him as absent. They began searching for the boy and would later find out that he was in Bali. His mother flew over there to go pick him up and bring him back to Sydney. She told the TV show that she was shocked and disgusted and that there is no emotion to feel what they felt when they found out he had left.

The boy told the TV show that they just asked him for his passport and student identification to prove that he was over the age of 12 and in secondary school. He added that it was great because he wanted to go on an adventure.

Nicaragua: State Department Pulls Some Employees and Families From US Embassy

The US State Department has decided to pull some of its embassy employees and their families out of Nicaragua over the riots and looting that has happened in the last few days. They have also raised the threat level and asked Americans to reconsider any plans to visit the country.

The protests began just a few days ago after President Daniel Ortega announced a plan to reform Nicaragua’s pension plan. The announcement has angered many students, who have taken the streets to protest.

The situation has gotten out of control in some areas, with protesters blocking the streets. More than 20 people have lost their lives since the protests began last week. The students leading the protests want the president and his wife, who is the vice-president, to leave office.

The protests intensified during the weekend, with many residents joining and giving them support. In some areas, protesters have decided to block roads and burn tires. In other places, the situation has gotten out of control, with reports of looting in supermarkets and other businesses.

Mr. Ortega has sent in the army and police to control the situation. There are different reports on the number of deaths and injured since the protests began. The country’s Center of Human Rights says that at least 25 people have died. The Red Cross has reported nine deaths with more than 430 injured. There are also reports that many have been arrested.

On Saturday, a journalist was killed during a Facebook Live broadcast. Angel Gahona was covering a protest and describing damage to an ATM when a bullet hit him. The incident happened in the middle of clashes between protesters and police.

Toronto Police Confirm Nine Deaths After Van Strikes Pedestrians

Toronto Police have confirmed the death of nine people that were struck by a van at a busy Toronto sidewalk earlier today. Authorities have also confirmed that there are 16 people injured.

The news were revealed by Toronto Deputy Chief Peter Yuen during a news conference just minutes ago. According to several reports, the incident happened right before 1:30 PM. The driver, who fled the scene, was arrested shortly after the incident.

Police arrested him several blocks away but have not established a reason or motive. Pictures taken after the incident showed emergency services and police in the area. Several videos appeared to show the driver pointing something at police officers before he was arrested.

One witness told local media that he saw people shouting to the driver to stop the car but he just kept moving and he hit some people. A Toronto police spokesperson told Global News after the incident that reports were that a white van drove down the sidewalk and struck eight to ten people possibly, adding that the numbers hadn’t been confirmed yet.

A Toronto police spokeswoman told CBC News that the van was stopped by police. Videos and pictures taken after the incident showed a white van from the rental company Ryder sitting on the side of the road.

One witness who spoke to City News said that the driver was hitting anything that comes in the way. The witness, who was driving behind the van during the incident, said that there was people, mail boxes and fire hydrants being run over by the van. The witness said he tried to honk his horn to warn pedestrians about the van but that he witnessed at least six, seven people being hit.

The sidewalk was busy at the time since it was early and many people were on lunch break. Authorities have not revealed the name and age of the driver but are currently investigating and asking witnesses to give them more information on what happened.

In recent years, Europe and the US has seen an increase in attacks with vans and trucks. In July 2016, a truck was deliberately driven into a crowd in Nice. 86 people died and more than 450 were injured. In October 2017, a man drove a rented pickup truck into a bicycle path, killing eight people and injuring about a dozen others.

Woman Fined $500 Over Delta Air Lines Snack

A woman is facing a big fine after bringing an apple from her flight through US customs. The apple was given to her during the flight as a free snack but she decided to keep in her bag for later.

US customs agency found the apple in her bag during a random search in Minneapolis. Crystal Tadlock, who was traveling from the United States to Paris, kept the fruit in her bag and was saving it for another flight. The apple, which was given in a Delta Air Lines bag, was not removed from it and Ms. Tadlock decided to place it in her baggage.

US customs agency found the apple and Ms. Tadlock told them that she had received the fruit from the airline. She asked what to do with it but the agents instead decided to give her a $500 fine over it. Ms. Tadlock recently posted a meme on Twitter telling people not to take the apple from Delta Air Lines.

Ms. Tadlock isn’t happy over the fine and the treatment she received during the incident. She told KDVR-TV that she was asked if her trip to France was expensive and she responded by confirming that it was. She didn’t get why the agent was asking that at first but he replied that it was about to get more expensive after they charged her $500. She added that it is really unfortunate that someone has to go through that and be treated like a criminal over a fruit.

Ms. Tadlock has tweeted about the incident a few times. In one of the tweets, she posted the notice of alleged violation, which reveals that it was the apple that led to the fine. In another tweet, she posted the bag in which she received the apple. In the description of that tweet, she mentions that she received a $500 violation and had her global entry revoked.

Ms. Tadlock said to CBS Denver that she travels regularly and had visited the country after winning a trip. She is now planning to take the matter to court since she thinks she does not deserve a $500 fine over an apple that the airline gave her. A Delta Air Lines spokesperson said to CBS Denver that they encourage their customers to follow US Customs and Border Protection protocols and that the fruit in question was part of an in-flight meal meant to be eaten on the plane.

Tennessee: Waffle House Shooting Suspect Arrested

Police in Nashville have arrested a man suspected of killing four people at a Waffle House in Tennessee. Authorities confirmed that Travis Reinking was captured in a wooded area. He had been on the run since Sunday, when he allegedly opened fire in the restaurant.

Reports revealed that Mr. Reinking threw out his jacket and left naked after the shooting. Metro Nashville PD said on its Twitter account that Travis Reinking had been apprehended moments ago in a wooded area close to Old Hickory Blvd & Hobson Pk. The picture in the tweet shows Mr. Reinking sitting in the back of a police car with a ripped shirt.

During the shooting, a customer decided to take action and stop him. He wrestled the rifle out of his hands and threw it away from him. That customer is James Shaw Jr., who was shot in the arm.

After the shooting, Mr. Reinking became one of the most wanted suspects in the state. More than 150 police officers began searching for him after the shooting. The search lasted just a day as authorities arrested him in a wooded area. Police have said that the area was near his apartment.

On Sunday, he arrived to the restaurant on a pickup truck. He then shot two people who were outside of the restaurant before entering and shooting two more. Four people lost their lives in the shooting while four others were injured. A police spokesman said Mr. Reinking sat on the pickup truck for 3 to 4 minutes looking at people inside the restaurant.

Mr. Shaw Jr. decided to take action but he was also injured during the shooting. He said during a press conference on Sunday that he heard shots, glass breaking and people running for cover. He decided to hide in the bathroom but the gunman shot through the door. One of the shots hit him in the arm.

He added that there was no way to lock the door and that he hit him with the door when the gun was kind of jammed up. He grabbed the gun from him and threw it over the countertop.

Mr. Reinking was no stranger to police as he had already been arrested once in 2017. At the time, he gave his firearms to police but they were handed to his father. Mr. Reinking would later get those firearms back.

Amazon India: OnePlus 6 Registration Now Live

The OnePlus 6 launch in India appears to be very close after Amazon India opened a page in which users can register and use the Notify Me option to get information on when the smartphone is released.

The OnePlus 6 will be the latest from OnePlus, a company that has impressed in the past for its devices with great specs at lower prices. The upcoming device is rumored to be much different from previous releases as leaks and the company itself has teased new features.

On Saturday, OnePlus India posted a teaser on its Twitter account which reads, “Same expert craftsmanship, new materials”. The tweet also includes an image, which appears to show part of the back of the device. In the image, we can see that the panel is shiny, which probably means that it will be a glass panel. This means that the phone could have wireless charging support, something that’s becoming more and more common in flagship smartphones.

The specs of the OnePlus 6 sound pretty good so far. The smartphone is said to have a Snapdragon 845 processor, which is found on smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S9, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Earlier this month, that same Twitter account posted another teaser which pretty much confirmed that the phone would be the first from the company to have water resistance. The tweet included a three second video of water drops.

The OnePlus 5, released in June 2017, was one of the most popular Android phones in its debut. The smartphone was extremely popular in India, where it was sold through Amazon. The company tweeted shortly after its debut in India that the smartphone was the highest grossing smartphone during its debut week on Amazon India.

The company did not reveal any numbers at the time but it did say that the phone had sold three times more than the OnePlus 3T in the same period. OnePlus announced an upgraded version of the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T, in November.

OnePlus, founded in December 2013, has released several phones since the debut of the OnePlus One, which was launched in early 2014. The launch date of the OnePlus 6 is rumored to be May or June. The OnePlus 6 will be going on sale exclusively on Amazon India.

Singapore: Ofo and Mobike Price Increases Leave Users Shocked

Mobike and Ofo, two of the biggest bike sharing companies in Singapore, have raised prices in the country, shocking users who believed the prices would remain the same as when the services launched.

Ofo announced last Monday through its official Facebook page that it would be bringing fresh prices. Mobike’s prices have also increased in the last few months and Channel NewsAsia contacted the company. Mobike’s Singapore Manager Sharon Meng explained that the Mobike Pass was introduced in November 2017 as a discounted introductory price. She added that they received extremely positive feedback during the promotional period, adding that the promotion ended in early March.

The price changes have shocked users, who now have to pay a lot more to continue using the service. One user told Channel NewsAsia that instead of using Mobike for another six months, she would rather use the money to buy a used bicycle. She purchased a six month pass in November for S$5 ($3.80) but recently learned that it will cost her S$50 ($37.99) to buy the same pass now. She regularly uses the service but the price increase has her thinking of other transportation options when the pass runs out.

She is one of many users who have complained about the increase in prices from the bike sharing companies. Ofo told Channel NewsAsia through an emailed statement that with the new Ofo pass pricing, they will be able to continue maintaining and expanding their fleet size to meet the demand.

An Ofo user who spoke to the news site said that she paid S$1.50 ($1.14) for a two month pass. The new prices now have the same pass at S$15 ($11.40). Some complain that the services never notified them about the price changes and that they only found out when they opened the app.

Ofo and Mobike provide a different way of transportation but the price changes now have some thinking about walking when their passes run out. Some do say they are okay with the increase since they regularly use the service. Singapore also has one of the highest car prices in the world, leaving bike sharing apps as one of the most affordable transportation options.

Mobike launched in Singapore back in March 2017, joining other bike sharing companies such as oBike and Ofo. In July 2017, the company launched bicycles with new features in the country. Ofo launched its service in Singapore in February 2017, bringing about 1,000 bikes to a few cities.

WWE WrestleMania 34 happened just a few weeks ago but WWE will be holding another big event in less than six days. That event is the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble, which currently has ten matches, with seven of those being for titles. The Greatest Royal Rumble, which will take place in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will feature a 50-man Royal Rumble match, making it the largest ever battle royal.

The Undertaker vs. Rusev

The Undertaker vs. Rusev match was scheduled days after WrestleMania 34 but there was a surprising change shortly after that. Rusev was replaced by Chris Jericho, leading to rumors that Rusev was leaving the company. Days later, WWE put Rusev back in the match and Jericho back to the Royal Rumble.

Prediction: The Undertaker wins this match. Not only is this a casket match but this will probably be one of the few appearances that The Undertaker makes in 2018. I just don’t see him losing here.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns part three will take place at this event. Lesnar won the last one and the one before finished with a different winner when Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31.

Prediction: I think Lesnar will win and continue his dominant run as WWE Universal Champion.

John Cena vs. Triple H

John Cena and Triple H are coming off losses at WrestleMania 34. There is no story behind this match but it will be a good watch as they have both had solid matches in the past.

Prediction: John Cena wins.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura met at WrestleMania 34, with AJ Styles winning. After the match, Nakamura hit AJ Styles with a low blow. Nakamura has continued doing the same in the most recent episodes of WWE SmackDown.

Prediction: Nakamura wins and becomes the new WWE Champion. I think this feud will continue for a while, no matter the result.

Cedric Alexander vs. ???

Cedric Alexander won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 34 but his next opponent has not been announced. The Cruiserweight division has plenty of superstars, so it will be interesting to see who is added to the match.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt vs. Sheamus and Cesaro

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt are now a tag team after feuding for months. The two will be facing the former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus, who were recently moved to the WWE SmackDown roster.

Prediction: Cesaro and Sheamus are now on SmackDown so I think this gives away the win for Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.

Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor

Seth Rollins will be putting his WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and The Miz. Rollins, Balor and The Miz faced each other at WrestleMania 34, with Rollins leaving as the new champion.

Prediction: Samoa Joe and The Miz recently joined the WWE SmackDown roster, so I don’t think they’ll be winning the title. I think Rollins will win but I wouldn’t be surprised if Balor wins the title in the future.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The Usos

The Usos earned a tag title opportunity after defeating The New Day on the episode of WWE SmackDown after WrestleMania 34. The Bludgeon Brothers are coming off a dominating victory against The Usos and The New Day at WrestleMania 34.

Prediction: The Bludgeon Brothers continue their dominating run against the SmackDown tag team division. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future as The Bludgeon Brothers have easily defeated their opponents since becoming a tag team.

Jeff Hardy vs. Jinder Mahal

Jeff Hardy, who recently joined WWE SmackDown, will be going up against former WWE and US Champion Jinder Mahal. This is a rematch of what happened after Jinder Mahal arrived to WWE Raw in the superstar shakeup.

Prediction: I think the move of Jeff Hardy to the SmackDown roster gives away the result of this match. The US title will remain in SmackDown while the Intercontinental title will remain on Raw.

Greatest Royal Rumble Match

Braun Strowman, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin are just some of the participants confirmed for the Royal Rumble match. WWE hasn’t revealed what the winner of this match will get. The Royal Rumble winner usually gets a title opportunity at WrestleMania.

Prediction: Braun Strowman is looking like the early favorite for this match. Less than half of the 50 participants have been confirmed for the Royal Rumble but Strowman has been nearly unstoppable since making his main roster debut. I could see him winning and maybe getting a title opportunity against Lesnar or whoever is the WWE Universal Champion for the next PPV.

Chile: At Least 3 Dead and 50 Injured In Hospital Explosion

An explosion at a hospital in the city of Concepcion has left at least three people dead and 50 others injured. The governor of the region of Biobio, Jorge Ulloa, said that the injured had been transported to hospitals and that the hospital had been evacuated. He also said that part of the structure had collapsed after the explosion.

Local media showed authorities going through part of the area that was heavily affected by the explosion. Other videos taken after the explosion showed the injured and emergency teams standing outside.

The mayor of Concepcion, Alvaro Ortiz, confirmed to the press that the explosion happened over a gas leak inside the hospital. The mayor explained that repair work was going on in one of the towers of the sanatorium.

Local media reports that the blast spread over several blocks and that it may have left damage in nearby buildings. Emergency teams were at the area shortly after to look for people who may have been trapped. One official ruled out that there were people missing as it was first believed.

17 of the people injured were transported to the Dr. Guillermo Grant Benavente Regional Hospital. Reports revealed that one of them is in critical condition while another was undergoing surgery. Six others were transported to different hospitals.

La Tercera reports that the Gas Sur company was called in over a possible gas leak. The company arrived to the area and suggested an evacuation. The company later told hospital staff that the emergency had been contained and people were brought back. At that moment, the explosion happened. Ulloa ruled out a collapse of all the structure and also said that there was a surgery going on when the explosion happened. He confirmed that it went well and that the hospital decided to cut electricity after it.

All of the Starbucks locations in the city of Concepcion were closed for the rest of Saturday and for Sunday after it was confirmed that one of its employees died in the explosion. The employee was working at a Starbucks located in the first floor of the hospital. The company also announced that its locations in Santiago would close at 7 PM on Saturday.

Argentine Model Left Partially Blind After Surgery

Instagram model, Nadinne Bruna, was left partially blind after getting a surgery to change the color of her eyes. Bruna wanted to change the color of her eyes to a light grey color but to do that she needed to find a country where the procedure could be done.

The procedure is not approved in the United States, so she decided to visit Colombia to get it done. She says she got the surgery done in 2016 but began having problems shortly after. In the surgery, she got silicone implants to change their color.

The color of her eyes were changed but the problems never went away. Bruna had blurry vision and red eyes from the start. Shortly after the surgery, her eyes began swelling and the pain would not go away.

Bruna told El Nuevo Herald that the swelling got worse and when she called him terrorized because she did not have medical insurance in the US, he told her that he could not get the implants out at the moment. She added that she had to wait six to seven months for that option. When she went back to Colombia, she says he decided to try to fix them because if he took them out, she would need a transplant, which he said he could not do because she is not Colombian.

Bruna explained that she did not know the risks of the surgery. She later visited a hospital in Miami, where she got the implants removed. The removal didn’t mean the end of her problems, which she says began over a bad procedure by the surgeon in Colombia.

The model is now said to have the eyesight of a 90-year-old. Bruna lost 50 percent of her vision in her left eye and 80 percent in her right eye. The model wrote on Instagram that she has gone through eight surgeries and she is visiting a clinic three times a week where she is thought to live with her loss of vision. In the post, she also warns everyone not to touch their eyes and take a risk for something that cannot be repaired. Nadinne and her twin sister appeared on an episode of E!’s Botched last year to try to get other surgeries.
